This video is a tour of the history & museum of the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company, which existed in the golden age of Tennessee. The museum collects & preserves the history of railroad, company & people of East Tennessee.
Housing the original Walland Depot building, which was moved on-site in 1983, is now the home of most of the photographic collection & artifacts of the corporation. There is also a replica of the Elkmont Post Office, which is the Gift Shop.
On-site is also a Shay 2147 locomotive, a vintage caboose, two flatcars, a portable Frick steam engine, one an original “setoff” house, which was for logging families. the wooden water tank from Walland, TN and a vintage log loader.
