The Townsend River Walk is a short walking trail that runs along the Little River in Townsend, TN. This quiet & scenic trail provides a beautiful (& completely shaded!) view into the incredible country here in Townsend. Along this quarter-mile trail, you’l get to know more about the native trees & vegetation, as well as see the river, flowers & wildlife.
The trail is confirmed as a Certified Aboretum by The Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.

Townsend River Walk
The Townsend River Walk was established in 2004 by the Tuckaleechee Garden Club to commemorate the 75th anniversay of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As part of establishing the trail, the TGC planted hundreds of daffodils that bloom in the Spring. The TGC continues to maintain the trail to keep it beautiful & clean.

Video of the River Walk. As you can see, the foliage is absolutely beautiful. And, on such a hot day, the shade was a very welcome benefit.
