Now under new owners, a nice, quaint escape from the hustle and bustle dining in Maryville and Pigeon Forge is the Trailhead Steak and Trout House in Townsend, TN (formerly Trailhead Steakhouse). Open for dinner and delivering a small town feel, this restaurant provides a clean and friendly environment whether for an anniversary romance or dining for the whole family.
After a day in the mountains you can enjoy casual dining with large portions of steak, chicken, fish, shrimp and pork chops; try the pecan crusted trout. Accompanying these entrees are salads, potatoes, mushrooms, appetizers and beer battered fries. Warm delicious bread awaits each diner as well as various desserts including skillet apple pie and pound cake. The menu is subject to change, but frequent visitors will enjoy the fresh new dishes.

This small cabin restaurant is fairly easy to find on the main street in Townsend – just look for the large yellow sign!
